Throwley Equipment

Throwley has various equipment which has been accumulated over the years and used during Throwley Fete and other community events. It includes marquees, tables, chairs, plates, cutlery, glasses, PA system, etc. Members of our community should be able to borrow that equipment, however, until recently, there were no clear lending policy or procedures. As from 2013, the equipment is owned by the Throwley Parish Council (TPC) and is managed by TEA. Following extensive discussions, these two groups have jointly established a set of transparent equipment lending rules and procedures described below.

  1. All equipment except marquees, public address system, and electrical installation can be borrowed by Throwley residents (including Belmont) without charge.

  2. Charitable events in neighbouring parishes will be considered on case-by-case bases and we will usually be able to lend the equipment without charge subject to reciprocal arrangements.

  3. The following procedure must be observed when lending the equipment:

    • An authorised by TEA lender must be present at the issuing and return of the equipment.

    • A special loan form will be signed by both parties in two copies, recording the equipment that was borrowed, its condition on lending and return, and the return date.

    • A receipt will be issued when the equipment is returned in clean and good condition.

    • In case of damage or loss, the borrower will be billed by the TPC for the cost of repair or replacement.

    • The borrowers will be required to collect and deliver the equipment (usually to containers) using their own transport at the agreed date and time.

For marquees, public address system and electrical installation, the equipment can only be lent if a qualified person, approved by TEA, will supervise its usage (e.g. marquee erection, putting it down and packing into boxes requires specific expertise). The borrowers will need to make their own arrangements to engage a qualified volunteer.

If you would like to borrow any of the equipment please contact us by e-mail or directly, one of the authorised people listed below with access to the storage containers.
