What TEA has achieved in 2013

  1. Established a formal status as un-incorporated association with written Rules – the aim is to coordinate and support community social events in the Parish.

  2. Established its own web-site www.throwley.net.

  3. Set up a new arrangement for all Throwley Community regarding asset management. Assets are now formally owned by Throwley Parish Council and managed by TEA. Full inventory of assets with lending policy and procedures were agreed with TPC. TPC provided the second container to store the assets and insured them.

  4. A complete set of documents, the Fete Template, was created to guide the volunteers organising the Fete and other events. All key documents are available in both printed and electronic format to enable re-usage.

  5. The cloud-based internet storage of all the documentation from 2013 with access to members of TEA committee and other authorised people was created.

  6. All of the above has been undertaken to efficiently perform the primary purpose of TEA –organising community events in Throwley. In 2013, TEA has organised:

  • Fete – in fact it was a two day event (plus Sunday for clearing it up) requiring a lot of systematic effort to plan before and huge involvement during these events. We are proud to say that over 90 people from our community contributed in various forms to Throwley Fete 2013. We have introduced some new elements, such as a day band and followed it with…

  • Public Fete wash-up meeting on 4th July 2013 in Throwley Church. A comprehensive report and full accounts were presented and published on the TEA website.

  • Picnic in Belmont – a village picnic in the Belmont walled garden was organised with the support from the Trustees of the Harris (Belmont) Charity on Sunday 7th July 2013.

  • Royal Baby Boy Celebration on 26th July 2013 – this impromptu event to celebrate the royal birth of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s baby son has attracted about 50 Throwley residents and friends.

  • A Guy Fawkes Night on 2nd November, 2013 was a first joined event with Eastling community. Ela and Adam Jastrzebski donated a contribution to impressive fireworks on behalf of TEA.

  • Carols on the Forstal on 20th December. Get together with mulled wine and mince pies. Traditional Carols round the Christmas tree (kindly donated by Nick Stears).
